At
age 19, Jay Abney was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy – a
weak heart. With a heart that was pumping blood at
just over half the amount it should be, Abney had an “ejection
fraction” of 35 percent compared to the normal 60
percent. He was told there was no cure, he would
continue to feel weak and that his life span would be shortened.
Shortly
after his diagnosis, Jay’s parents heard
about cardiologist Peter Langsjoen who was getting positive
results with his heart patients using Coenzyme Q10 therapy.
They were skeptical as mainstream medicine had all but
ignored this therapeutic approach. But with Jay’s
life at stake, the Abneys drove 200 miles to Dr. Langsjoen’s
Tyler, Texas clinic.
Jay was examined and immediately
put on 400 mgs of CoQ10. He
chewed tablets three times daily, with a little peanut
butter to help absorption. In less than a month,
Jays’ ejection fraction rapidly improved from 35
percent to 50 percent, or nearly normal. There were
no side effects (not surprising since CoQ10 is generated
and found naturally in the body). His energy level
had shot up and he was excited but cautiously optimistic.
Now,
five years later, Jay takes multivitamins plus 360 mgs
of CoQ10 in gelcaps daily. He uses no other medication
of any kind. His heart is pumping at 60 percent -
normal. He exercises and lives a normal life.
Jay
sums it up quite simply: “My energy level is
tremendous, the difference is tremendous with CoQ10. I
have hope.”
